Serap Başol

Environmentalist artist Serap Başol’s works involve an approach comprising the nature/environment/holiness, cultural history and architectural interaction.

A METU Business School graduate, the artist conveyed her administrative experiences as a freelance trainer after having undertaken managerial duties in the field of banking. She received trainings in Art History – Painting Techniques – Philosophy and Modern Art. She founded a workshop of four people and conducted expressionist and experimental art Works. She has been painting and performing different fields of art since 2001.

The artist worked as the curator of 2010 Green World Movement and performed project classes titled “Recycling in Architecture – Urban Ecology” and workshops with the 2001 – 2009 İTU Faculty of Architecture undergraduate and postgraduates, and worked as the curator of the workshops of exhibitions “Where Waste Becomes Art” in Ankara and İstanbul between 2003 and 2011. She was involved in Gölyazı Art Camp Project in 2006, Winter Art Camp in 2007, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Festival Art Activity in 2008, Rotary Water and Environment Forum Organization in 2009, “Eco-Design Meeting” of İTU in Taşkışla and İstinyepark Green Movement Project in 2010.
