Yurdanur Ucar who is a block printing artist and a traditional Turkish handicrafts artisan was born in Tokat in 1973. Having graduated from Gazi Osman Paşa University Handicrafts Department, Uçar has been performing the traditional art of block printing since 1988 and is among the limited artists performing this handicraft. The artist who produces every stage of her work completely by herself and by using 100% wooden moulds and dyes which she obtains from herbs, adapts her designs which mainly comprise traditional figures to many fields such as scarves, shawls, pareos, waist clothes and bed covers.
