Product Information

Ahura Mazda wall art is carved from walnut tree by artisan Kadri Basci. Ahura Mazda is the supreme god of Zoroastrianism and presents the goodness and radiance. Zoroastrianism is the ancient Iranian religion between BC 6th century and AC 7th century. After the invasion of Arabs most of them forced to turn to İslam and the others flee to West India.
According to Zoroastrianism, Ahura Mazda created the universe and the cosmic order that he maintains. He is fighting continuously with the evil God called Ehrimen and the victory at the end will belong to the goodness.

Kadri Başçı

Wood carving artisan Kadri Basci living in Mardin, has started wood carving after the 1995 economic crisis when he had to close his shop. This crisis had opened him the doors to do wood carving a dream of his childhood.

Kadri Basci is inspired from mythology, ancient religions and nature. When he holds the wood piece in his hand each time it is another journey for him. He uses 95 percent walnut tree. Old poplar pieces and olive wood is also among his favorites.
